Full Arch Replacement with Dental Implants

When all of your teeth are missing sometimes dentures will become difficult to wear. This difficulty only worsens over time.  When teeth are missing, the bone under the gum gradually resorbs or gets smaller. With less bone, there is less to hold dentures in the mouth. Fortunately there is a solution to the never ending problem. Implants can be placed and teeth connected to the implants to replace the missing teeth. This can be permanent and be non-removable like bridges or it can be removable. With the removable option implants can be placed allowing you to snap the denture onto the implants firmly holding it in place for a removable solution. The dental implants will also stop the bone resorption in areas where the implants are placed.

Step In Replacing All Of Your Teeth With

Implants And Fixed Bridges

  1. The site is examined to determine if there is enough bone height and width to place an implant. If there is not, then Dr. Wiland can perform a simple procedure called bone grafting to make the bone necessary for the placement of a dental implant. If teeth remain, Dr. Wiland will talk with you about how they can be removed and the denture delivered at the same appointment.
  2.

  3. The implants are placed and allowed to heal for about 2-3 months in most cases. You will have temporary teeth over the implants while they heal. You do not have to have one implant for every tooth needing to be replaced. Usually fewer implants are placed and implant supported bridges are used.
  4.

  5. The implant is allowed to heal for about 8 weeks. Abutments are placed on the implants. The teeth will then connect onto the abutments.
  6.

  7. You are now ready to see your general dentist.  Your general dentist will make bridges to connect onto the implants. Implants will give you the look, function and feel of natural teeth.

Conventional Complete Denture
A conventional complete denture can sometimes work satisfactorily. Over time dentures can get loose and become a problem when speaking or eating.  People can lose self-confidence when dentures are constantly moving.
